How much does an LED neon sign cost in electricity?
LED is one of the most energy-efficient lights available, and LED uses for example 4-5 times less power than halogen, and even less than classic glass neon, which is often the alternative to LED neon signs. LED neon signs use 12v, so an adapter is always required.
The power consumption depends of course on the size of the sign, but for an average LED neon sign of one meter in width, the consumption is about 80 watts per hour. Converted into dollars and cents, we're talking about 40 cents an hour at today's prices (6/9/22).
The amount varies, of course, with the size of the LED neon sign and the evolution of electricity prices. You can calculate your own consumption and get advice on your lighting on the Danish Energy Agency's website: https://sparenergi.dk/forbruger/el/belysning
